Database introduction:
The "Late Qing Periodicals Full-text Database" was produced and launched by the editorial department of the "National Newspaper Index" of the Shanghai Institute of Science and Technology Information of the Shanghai Library. It is one of the components of the "Modern Periodicals Full-text Database" of the Shanghai Library.
The library contains 302 journals from 1833 to 1910, with more than 280,000 full-text articles, covering almost all the journals published at that time, and has many "most of the journals". Periodicals of the late Qing Dynasty reflected the political, economic, military, diplomatic, education, culture, science and technology, religious and other aspects of the special historical period when China was transforming from a feudal society to a modern society. Many periodicals expressed different and even opposites. Viewpoints and positions objectively reflect the true face of this historical period and are of high value for research and utilization. Users can search, browse and download the full text of more than 280,000 articles from the title, author, journal title, etc.
