The "National Philosophy and Social Sciences Academic Journal Database" is a special commissioned project of the National Social Science Fund approved by the National Philosophy and Social Science Planning Leading Group and undertaken by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. It was officially launched in March 2012 and aims to become a national, open A philosophical and social science information platform for public welfare. The specific responsible unit is the Library of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (Investigation and Data Information Center). On July 16, 2013, the "National Philosophy and Social Sciences Academic Journal Database" system platform was launched online, and it was revised and upgraded on January 13, 2014. It was fully upgraded again on June 14, 2014, and the third edition was launched.

The database contains 200 top domestic social science academic journals selected and mainly funded by the National Social Science Fund, and more than 70 journals sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences. Most of the journals included are selected as the core journals of the three evaluation systems of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, Peking University, and Nanjing University
